Manage your productions

Your home page is the list of every production you can reach — the ones you own, and the ones you have been invited to. Over a few years that list gets long, which is what the tools on it are for.

The production card

Each production is a card carrying its title, its type — feature film, season or demo — and its actions. Opening a card takes you into the production; everything else happens from the card's menu.

Favourite

Mark the productions you are actually working on. Favourites are the answer to a list that has grown past the point of scanning: the two you are on this month sit apart from the eleven you are not.

It is a personal marker, not a production setting — what you favourite is yours.

Wrap

When a production finishes shooting, wrap it. The card is marked as wrapped, which separates the finished work from the live work without hiding or deleting anything.

Wrapping is reversible — unwrap it if the production comes back for pickups or additional photography, which is common enough that the action exists rather than forcing a workaround.

Wrapping does not lock the production. Everything stays editable: it is a status, not a freeze. People still need access to a wrapped production for months afterwards — deliveries, insurance queries, a network asking what a scene contained — and that continues to work exactly as before.

Edit and delete

Editing a production covers its title, its type-level settings, and its security — including the cross-department access setting that decides whether departments can see each other's work. That one is worth knowing about, because it is not on the team page where people look for it. See roles and departments.

Deleting removes the production and everything in it. There is no partial delete and nothing to recover afterwards, so it is worth being certain — wrapping is almost always what is actually wanted for a production that is simply over.

Starting from the demo

The home page is also where you create the demo: a complete production with a script, characters, scenes and script days already broken down, owned by you and safe to take apart. See exploring the demo.

There is no limit on how many productions you can have, and creating one costs nothing until it holds work — see your plan for how that is calculated.

The thing that is not obvious

Productions are sealed from each other. Search, characters, warehouse items and everything else are scoped to the production you are in — nothing is shared between them, and there is no cross-production view.

That is deliberate: it is what makes a production's data trustworthy and its access rules meaningful. But it does mean that work you want on two productions has to exist on both, and that the only thing carried between them is a returning season's cast and wardrobe, through the series link — see importing episode screenplays.
